Scientific Research in Homeopathy

The best evidence for homeopathy are the many millions of patients who were ill, and have been treated successfully.

In comparison, these 'double-blind randomised placebo controlled trials are of minor significance, not least because homeopathy denialists and homeophobes will just dismiss them out of hand. They will continue to say - "there is no evidence base for homeopathy" - quite regardless of the growing size of that evidence.

Ah well! At least you know they are lying!

Avandia is banned

At last, Avandia has been banned in Europe. This drug has demonstrated everything that is wrong with conventional medicine. It was introduced in 1999 and hailed as a major advance in the treatment of diabetes. It has been an enormously successful drug - financially. But disastrous for many patients who were eagerly persuaded to take it.

The drug never cured anyone with diabetes. It was never intended to do so. Like most pharmaceutical drugs it merely suppressed the symptoms, whilst ignoring the underlying causes of the disease.

It is unknown how many people it has killed, but it was found to increase the chance of heart attack by 43%. Few would have known about the dangers of the drug, because they would not have been told. It is now known that the FDA knew about the dangers since 2003 - 7 years ago. And they have still not banned it in the USA.

The European Medicines Agency has now banned the drug in Europe, about 11 years too late for many patients! It is the usual story. A drug, that progressed through all its 'scientific' testing, and was announced to be safe and effective by the conventional medical establishment. 


This is the 'evidence base', the science, upon which all pharmaceutical drugs are supposed to be based. It is a lie, a charade, a profit-driven deception on patients, to which the drug companies, the government, the NHS, and all those who prescribe the drug, are party.


This is not the first, nor will it be the last drug to be banned. Pharmaceutical drugs that are being prescribed by our doctors today will come to the same predictable, almost inevitable end.

Pharmaceutical drugs. 85% of them are useless!

Many previous blogs have pointed to the fact that ConMed drugs are dangerous. Now there is a new study that has found that 85% of drugs are also useless!

What a combination! And the drugs industry can sell us drugs that are both useless and dangerous for exorbitant amounts of money.

"Corruption and fraud in the drug industry is nothing new, but a new report to be presented at the 105th Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association reveals that most new pharmaceutical drugs offer practically no benefits and a whole lot of negative side effects".

And homeophobes and homeopathy denialists say that homeopathy is nothing more than placebo, and that ConMed is 'evidence based'!

But worse still. It is now clear that only 8% of conventional drugs and vaccines have ever been proven to work.

It would appear that the ‘success’ of medicine has been achieved through the spin and the data manipulation that the pharmaceutical industry has been involved in now for over a century, and by the ability of governments, the conventional medical establishment, supported by our mainstream media organisations, to continue ignoring the failure of drugs and vaccines over the years.

Conventional, drug-based medicine is failing, and failing rapidly and ignominiously.

The Case for Homeopathic Medicine

Homeopathy is forever under attack from denialists and homeophobes, many of them on this blog. They constantly and incessantly chant their mantras - 'there is no evidence', and 'it is no more than placebo', and other such nonsense.

So when Dana Ullman, a US homeopath, writes a superb article on 'the case for homeopathy' it is well worth reading. He starts - "A lot of people today are confused about what homeopathy is (and isn't)". And he makes a fine job at outlining the evidence for homeopathy, and dismissing the 'misinformation' that some scientists, and the denialists, regularly feed the public.

Patients deceived by another drug company

Pfizer has been caught in yet more science fraud. The company has apparently been found to have altered findings for their drug, Neurontin http://www.naturalnews.com/z027692_science_fraud_Neurontin.html.

An unusual, one-off occurrence? Unfortunately not, indeed, it would appear that most large pharmaceutical drug companies have been caught publishing the 'science' they liked, and not publishing the 'science' the disliked! Conventional medicine claims to be supported by an 'evidence base'. It would appear that some of this evidence base is actually fraudulent - and perhaps more of it than we are aware. That would certainly explain why so many pharmaceutical drugs, given to patients as tested, and therefore effective and safe, turn out to be ineffective and dangerous.

Homeopathy - the evidence base

The detractors of homeopathy regularly repeat that homeopathy has no evidence base, that science is clear that homeopathic remedies cannot possibly work.

This is a lie, repeated so often many people continue to believe it is true.
The Science and Technology Committee of the House of Commons is currently doing an investigation into the 'evidence base' for homeopathy, and several submissions have outlined the growing body of science that supports homeopathy as an effective medical therapy. Evidence for Homeopathy

The Science and Technology Committee of the House of Commons are currently looking at the 'evidence base' for Homeopathy. Whether this is just another example of homeopathy bashing (those called to give evidence includes all the usual detractors of homeopathy, Ernst, Goldacre, et al) we will just have to wait to see, but one opportunity this has given the homeopathy community is the opportunity to put together a really quite large, and impressive 'evidence base'.

This evidence base for homeopathy can be seen in submissions to the Committee given by the ARH, and the Homeopathy Research Institute, in particular, and I am hopeful that the positive message - that homeopathy works, and that there is good scientific evidence that homeopathy works - will be published more openly in the coming months.

The Committee, perhaps unsurprisingly, seems to be discussing homeopathy on the basis of accepting what our detractors have said, consistently over the last few years, that there is no evidence base. They are wrong, of course, but continue to work on the basis that if you repeat a lie, over and over again, people will believe it to be true!

Unfortunately, there appears to be little if any recognition of the fragile 'evidence base' for conventional medicine, other than the assumption that there is one. Every pharmaceutical drug is tested before it is marketed. But the evidence of these trials, whilst proving they have an initial impact on illness and disease, does not tell us about the disease inducing effects (DIEs) of the drugs, or the fact that a large majority of them are eventually found to be ineffective, at best, at dangerous, or even lethal, at worst.

This is galling, to say the least. Perhaps the Science and Technology Committee should examine the integrity of evidence base for conventional medicine next.

Conventional Medical research cannot be believed

The title of this blog is not a personal quote, but from Marcia Angell, MD, a well-known, respected physician, and former editor of a leading Medical Journal. So much for the 'evidence base' of conventional medicine!
