Swine Flu - a crisis engineered by Big Pharma?

This blog is based on the 'Daily Health Alert' from Agora Health, dated 13th November 2013.

What did happen though is that Big Pharma managed to push drugs like Tamiflu and dangerous fast-tracked and untested vaccines by the millions, raking in billions of pounds.

It's despicable and very disturbing. Not only because the medical authorities, experts and doctors who we are supposed to trust blatantly lied to us, but also because these side effect ridden drugs and vaccines have left many people with permanent health problems.

A new study reveals that doctors and researchers with connections to pharmaceutical companies inflated the dangers of the 2009 Swine Flu 'pandemic' to help promote the drugs and vaccines developed by Big Pharma.

At the time, the mainstream and their Big Pharma cronies accused those (like us) who warned the public that Swine Flu was nothing more than a health crisis created by Big Pharma to sell their snake oil, of scaremongering and conspiracy theories.

The study, published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, shows that between April and July 2009, 35 of the 74 danger evaluations made by academics in the media originated from specialists who had strong connections to Big Pharma.

In 2009, the government even stockpiled Tamiflu when it was feared the H1N1 Swine Flu virus might clear the planet. According to the research findings, those advertising the use of antiviral pills, like Tamiflu, were eight times more likely to have ties with pharmaceutical companies, compared to those who did not encourage the use of these drugs.

The researchers raised concerns about the links of experts with drug companies who, were also on scientific advisory committees, including the World Health Organisation's (WHO) Emergency Committee... No wonder the WHO was so quick to declare the H1N1 Swine Flu outbreak a public health emergency... with many mainstreamers, like Prof Oxford, a virologist at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, hysterically warning the world that up to 750,000 people would die of Swine Flu.

Of course, none of this happened. Yes, sadly there were deaths but not even close to the numbers predicted by so-called 'health experts'. In fact, a year later, in June 2010, the worldwide H1N1 death toll stood at 17,853. Compared to the annual death toll of ordinary seasonal flu (between 250,000 to 500,000), the H1N1 deaths made up a measly 5 per cent of that amount… Hardly the pandemic the mainstream expected!

A recent major study of four-to-18-year-olds by the Health Protection Agency, found that around one in every 55,000 of the Pandemrix Swine Flu vaccines was associated with narcolepsy. A spokesman for GlaxoSmithKline, the makers of Pandemrix, said it had details of around 900 people from 14 countries who had narcolepsy and were vaccinated.

This is a shining example of why you need to join our Campaign For Safer Medicine.

And this is another reason I wanted to blog this - I would like everyone who has concerns about the harm and damage caused to patients by Big Pharma drugs and vaccines to sign this petition

According to the FDA’s own figures, prescription drugs seriously injured 471,291 Americans in 2010 alone, of which 82,724 were killed outright…

The situation is no better in the UK, or anywhere else that is dominated by conventional, drug-based medicine.

So please register your personal disgust at the sleazy practices of the pharmaceutical industry. By signing the petition you'll also be instrumental in forcing governments to sit up, take notice, and change the law relating to drugs trials and full disclosure of information.

BBC News, Big Pharma - and an outbreak of honesty?

Could this be an outbreak of (very welcome) honesty within the BBC News service? Hitherto, their reporting of health issues has been lamentable, apparently only willing to publish the 'good' or 'positive' news about pharmaceutical drugs, and quite unwilling to tell its listeners, viewers and readers, any of the 'bad' or 'negative' news.

This morning, on its Today programme, the BBC reported that a BMJ (British Medical Journal) editorial had attacked the 'long-existing habit of the pharmaceutical and science community' to publish only selectively (that is, the good bits) about the clinical trials on new drugs. This, by itself, is an amazingly refreshing outbreak of honesty from the Conventional Medical Establishment! But to listen how the BBC dealt with this, listen to the broadcast at:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9671000/9671074.stm

You will hear in the short clip that two examples are given of this Big Pharma practice, which has been going on for decades, largely without comment or concern from the BBC, or indeed, the mainstream media generally:

1. Tamiflu - about which Roche has apparently been refusing to publish data, and
2. Vioxx - where evidence about its link to heart attacks has been suppressed by the drug company.

Apparently, the BBC asked the drug companies to comment - but they declined! However, Professor Colin Blakemore said, presumably in their defence:

What journal will publish boring results?

Indeed, he appeared to assume that the public only wanted to hear the 'good' news, and certainly for as long as I can remember, this is all the BBC has wanted to report too.

Blakemore, perhaps mirroring the attitude of the entire conventional medical establishment, appears to have been more concerned about the need to 'entertain us' rather than ensuring, and safeguarding, the health of patients!

However, despite this unusual but welcome display of BBC honesty, it is also clear that they did not know how to ask searching and relevant questions on the issue. Indeed, they did not appear to recognise the importance to us all of this issue.

* How many pharmaceutical companies are failing to publish the full evidence about their drugs?

* On what basis are Big Pharma companies allowed to withhold important clinical information? Is this being done in order to sell more drugs? And if so, can this be in the interests of the health of patients?

* Are the Drug Companies being held fully accountable for any consequences to patients of the drugs they manufacture and sell? (Drug companies are being sued in the USA for the damage they cause patients, but not, it would seem, in this country).

* How many pharmaceutical drugs, and indeed which ones, are currently being prescribed without the full clinical information being known to medical personal and patients?

* How many patients are at this moment taking pharmaceutical drugs about which full information remains unknown? And what action will now be taken by the medical authorities to obtain this information?

* How long has the government, the NHS, and MHRA been aware of the practice? If the medical establishment has known about it, why has nothing been done? And if it did not know, is there a need to re-examine the basis on which pharmaceutical drugs been sanctioned, approved and prescribed to patients?

* Are local doctors and GPs aware of this practice? Are they, indeed can they be, fully aware of the impact any drug has on their patients?

Clearly, the BBC are more adept at criticising and attacking those people who are aware of the dangers of Big Pharma drugs, and who are looking for 'non-drug alternatives' to the medicine being offered to us within the current NHS-ConMed monopoly.

Tamiflu - more Big Pharma deception

For those following my discussions with 'the Black Duck' about the safety of homeopathy and conventional drugs, (see previous post), there is now more news of drug company deception.

See http://www.naturalnews.com/027734_Tamiflu_Roche.html

This is just part of what the article says about Tamiflu, the anti-viral drug, and Roche, the drug's manufacturer.

"Roche claims there are ten studies providing Tamiflu is both safe and effective. According to the company, Tamiflu has all sorts of benefits, including a 61% reduction in hospital admissions by people who catch the flu and then get put on Tamiflu.

The problem with these claims is that they aren't true. They were simply invented by Roche.

A groundbreaking article recently published in the British Medical Journal accuses Roche of misleading governments and physicians over the benefits of Tamiflu. Out of the ten studies cited by Roche, it turns out, only two were ever published in science journals. And where is the original data from those two studies? Lost.

The data has disappeared. Files were discarded. The researcher of one study says he never even saw the data. Roche took care of all that, he explains".

Truth and honesty appear to go out of the window when there is the prospect of selling, and making huge profits from selling pharaceutical drugs!
