Autism and Vaccines - yet more evidence

The truth about vaccines and autism is gradually emerging. We can expect the medical authorities (and the denialists who write into this blog to deny it, but the truth will emerge in the end - as it has done with so many pharmaceutical drug treatments in recent decades.

Banned, withdrawn,restricted drugs

The most recent evidence emerges in the Natural News feature.

http://www.naturalnews.com/031056_autism_vaccines.html

"A January 10Mail Online(UK) article entitled "Scientists fear MMR link to autism." reported a Wake Forest University (USA) medical study that found measles virus in 70 out of 82 autistic children tested. None of them were wild measles strains. They were all vaccine strains, common to MMR shots".

Of course, the conventional medical establishment will deny this further evidence. It would be difficult for them to accept this now, after denying it for so long, and treating Andrew Wakefield so disgracefully. But there is other evidence, perhaps more important for people who still wonder about giving the children MMR and other vaccines.

We have known for many years now that the Amish community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, is completely free of autism. It was like an oasis in the midst of a desert. And they do not vaccinate their children. So you removed the cause of Autism, and you remove the disease.

Now, there is another community that says there is no autism within it.

"Now if you still have doubts that the media and health officials are honest or know what they are talking about, take a trip to Homefirst Health Services in metropolitan Chicago where thousands of children are being cared for. The doctors there have two things in common with thousands of Amish children in rural Lancaster: They have never been vaccinated. And they don’t have autism.

"We have a fairly large practice. We have about 30,000 or 35,000 children that we’ve taken care of over the years, and I don’t think we have a single case of autism in children delivered by us who never received vaccines,” said Dr. Mayer Eisenstein, Homefirst’s medical director who founded the practice in 1973. Homefirst doctors have delivered more than 15,000 babies at home and most of them have never been vaccinated.

"We do have enough of a sample,” Eisenstein said. “The numbers are too large to not see it. We would absolutely know. We’re all family doctors. If I have a child with autism come in, there’s no communication. It’s frightening. You can’t touch them. It’s not something that anyone would miss.” The few autistic children Homefirst sees were vaccinated before their families became patients.

Or perhaps go to

and listen to Dr Mayer Eisenstein talking about why there is no autism in the area his health centre covers.

There is no reason why the NHS should not set up a similar project, leaving children in certain areas unvaccinated, and comparing the rates of autism within the population. They won't of course. But in a sense, that population already exists with that growing number of parents who are refusing to allow their children to be vaccinated.

All parents should join that growing band.

Thinking of having the flu jab?

Don't!

It exposes the myth of 'evidence-based' medicine. And RCTs too.

Asthma and Homeopathy

This case was told to me by a colleague. It shows the kind of success homeopathy can have treating all kinds of illness that ConMed is not able to cope with.

"I treated a 5 year old boy who had bronchiolitis since the he was 6-8 weeks old. He had many courses of anti biotics and spent most winters in hospital. He also had all the childhood vaccinations.

I only saw him for one appointment over two winters ago and prescribed what I learnt from Hillery Dorrian (a well-known, well respected homeopathy and teacher) on a eczema workshop - protocol for clearing where lots of medication have been used used.

After have the homeopathic remedies, he went through the whole of the following winter with no major asthma attacks and no visits to the hospital - and again last winter.

His mother (who is a friend of my colleague) keeps promising to bring him back for further treatment but he amazingly seems to have improved so much on this treatment alone".

The homeopathic treatment was to clear the adverse reactions (DIEs) of ConMed drugs and vaccines.....

Ear Infections and Homeopathy

New evidence that homeopathic treatment for ear infections is superior to both conventional antibiotic treatment and placebo.

http://www.naturalnews.com/031014_ear_infections_homeopathics.html

This finding comes from a recent Meta Analysis of studies published in JAMA. It compares treatment with antibiotics, with no treatment, and homeopathic treatment. Interestingly, even 'no treatment' proved to be better than antibiotics!

Scientists who published a study in 1997 in the International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics found that the homeopathic treatment group recovered an average of a day faster than the antibiotic-using group.

In another study published in 2001 in the British Homeopathic Journal compared homeopathic treatment to placebo treatment in 230 children with acute ear infections. After 12 hours, 72% of the children recovered 2.4 times faster than those children who received placebo.

The three remedies often used in homeopathy for ear infections, Belladonna, Pulsatilla and Hepar Sulph are mentioned in the article, and whilst using these remedies is safe, ear infections can be complex, and if the best indicated of these remedies do not work, consulting with a registered homeopath is advisable.

Why do GPs prescribe dangerous treatments?

Are GPs as much to blame as the NHS and the Big Pharma companies for putting our health at risk by prescribing dangerous drugs and vaccines? Most people seem to trust their GPs. I stopped doing so several years ago when a GP, and a hospital registrar, both told me that Beta Blockers were 'well tolerated' (they aren't)!

Well, look at this piece from Child Health Safety.
http://childhealthsafety.wordpress.com/2010/02/13/gmc-fraud-for-bonuses/

It describes why GPs may be keen to push drugs and vaccines on their patients - there are financial incentives for them to do so. And not only that, the GMC (the GPs statutory body, established to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards of practice) apparently advised GPs to remove unvaccinated children from their list in order to reach their 'targets', and thus, receive their incentive payments.

I have no doubt that the GMC, and most GPs, support vaccination, and that they do so despite all the evidence in front of them of the widespread tragedy caused to some people. But the picture of GPs recommending vaccination to their patients in order to reach their targets, and for the GMC to recommend their GPs de-register people who did not want to be vaccinated, takes this situation a long way from being 'ethical' medical practice.

It means that just as the Big Pharma companies pursue profits by selling dangerous drugs, GPs are prepared to pass them on to you, with the full support of their governing body.

So next time your GP tells you something, work out why he is telling you. Is it in the best interests of your health? Or does he/she have a financial motive?

Read the article, and make up your own mind.

Mental Health and Pharmaceutical Drugs

Pharmaceutical treatment for mental illness has been, and continues to be a disaster. The BBC 4 programme 'Mental. A history of the madhouse' relayed on 11th January 2011 outlines how mental health treatment has 'developed' from the 1940's to 1990's. So how did ConMed, or 'scientific' or 'evidence-based medicine' set about the task.

* Electro-convulsive Therapy (ECT), or passing an electric current through the brain to cause a seizure. Was there any evidence for it? Did it work? Was it humane? Answer to all three questions - No.

* Insulin Therapy, or giving insulin injections until the patient went into coma. Any evidence for it? Did it work? Was it humane? No. The treatment led to several deaths, and was described as 'a harmful medical failure'.

* Lobotomy. This produced some of the most dreadful images in the programme. Was there any evidence for it? Did it work? Was it humane? Again, no, it was none of those things. There were, apparently, 15,000 operations, and the comment was made in the film - "they did not  know what they were doing - it was a disaster".

* New drugs, Chlorpromazine (Lagactil), Lithium; considered to be 'miracle' drugs at the time, that would 'solve the riddle of mental illness'; but 'worked' solely by drugging, sedating or tranquillising the patient, and used for containment rather than treatment. There was contemporary footage of people who suffered from this sedation, as well as personal testimony about the impact on the drugs of their lives at the time.

This is a dreadful history, and the programme showed visually just how hopeless and bad conventional medical treatment has been over the years. The only positive development outlined by the programme was the work of a group of psychiatrists in the 1960's and 1970's, led by RD Laing, who realised that mental health had something to do with the society we live in, and how some struggled to cope with the circumstances in which they were living. They realised it had little to do with the chemistry of the brain. Sadly, that strand of psychiatry did not prevail. They did not want to use drugs, so presumably they did not receive the support of the conventional medical establishment, monopolised as it is by Big Pharma interests.

No doubt, some conventional medical apologists would want to argue that drug treatment for mental health has improved, and indeed, there is a new generation of drugs now in use. However, they too have similar effects on those people given them (often, now, legally enforced).

All pharmaceutical drugs seek to interfere with natural brain chemistry, and for this reason, their side effects or DIEs (disease-inducing effects) are quite horrendous.

What this BBC film demonstrates, so well and so visually, is how hopeless conventional medicine has been over the years dealing with mental health issues. It has been the same for most physical illnesses too. From the days of leeches, blood-letting, right up to the present, and the disasters of today's toxic drugs, conventional medicine has few answers for our mental health.

Homeopathy can be more successful, and of course it is always safer. As a homeopathy student, I came across Catherine R Coulter's books, Portraits of Homeopathic Medicines; and Philip M Bailey's book, Homeopathic Psychology. Both outlined the personality profiles of some of homeopathy's major remedies, and those books are how always at my side. The homeopathic Materia Medica is full of remedies that have a beneficial impact on depression, and other mental health issues. And the Homeopathic Repertories describe those 'mental health' issues sometimes in great detail.

And linking the symptoms of the patient, with the symptoms of a remedy, can lead to some remarkable outcomes.

Benzodiazepine Drugs - a life tragedy

This is a response I have received from a colleague of mine, Kevin, who was moved to send in the tragic story about his father. It demonstrates that despite all their claims, ConMed and its awful drugs have so little to contribute to human health.

"I couldn’t avoid replying to your posting on the Benzodiazepines- the mother’s little helpers that were so often seen as a panacea back in the seventies. My father was a former far eastern prisoner of war. Patriotic by nature, he didn’t wait to be called up, but took the King’s shilling and was posted to Singapore as part of the island’s defence force. On Singapore’s fall, my father became a prisoner of war of the Japanese and worked on the construction of the Burma Railway memorialised in the film, ‘Bridge Over the River Kwai’.

My father didn’t speak much about the war. I know that when he arrived back in Liverpool he weighed around five stone. I know also that although he did receive medical attention for the malaria that continued to trouble him for the rest of his life, like most of his surviving comrades, little attention was given to the emotional scars they suffered.

As I see the welfare state rapidly being dismantled only to be replaced by a more ancient and some narrow minded parsimonious system of swim or sink, I remember that many of the reforms that occurred in the late forties were put in place to provide for the service- men and women who had sacrificed so much for this country.

I have always known that it is not just those such as my father who sacrificed much, but many of their families also. Indeed, some still pay the price of our nation’s former colonial engagements. Our family had many of the aspects of the prison camp that housed my father for those long years of his captivity.

Looking back with the hindsight of a sixty year old, I can see that he had major difficulties throughout my childhood. As I left my teens and entered young adulthood, my father found he could no longer cope with his job. He went to his GP who along with the long sicknote, doled out one of the Benzodiazepines that were so prevalent back then in the seventies. Sadly, to these my father added large amounts of home brewed beer.

My dad had always been unpredictable and often resorted to violence.  This trait continued, but contrary to what he had been told would happen his occasional aggression alternated with long bouts of depression. I remember writing to his GP warning him of his condition and stating my fears for his wellbeing. One Friday while my mother was at work, he took to their bed and swallowed a large quantity of his capsules, together with a bottle of Sherry. By the time my mother returned home, he was dead.

I remember writing to the local branch of the Far Eastern Prisoner if War Association to inform them of my father’s suicide. Not long afterwards, that former officer who replied so beautifully to my letter went up onto the moors and blew his brains out.

I came to learn that very few of those who gave so much to this country in our country’s war in the east lived to a respectable age. Like my father who was 59, many, many Far Eastern POWs committed suicide.

It is deplorable that the NHS had little that was effective in helping these men mitigate their sufferings; it is all the more so because the drugs that were so routinely trotted out to the likes of my father in the seventies usually contributed to the desperate deterioration that so often followed their prescribing. I suppose our family’s experience of drug prescribing bred a deep suspicion of conventional drugs in me. It is more than likely that my dad’s passing helped me avoid the same fate when I became terminally ill with cancer in January 1999.

Very few from the second world war survive now, but those increasing numbers of mostly young men who end their own lives before reaching the age of thirty are testament to the fact that whatever ails modern society is mirrored in all those new patents for psychotropic drugs. Despite the growing profits of their manufacturers, no-one seems able to reverse the trend. This is a tragic testament to our drug companies’ ineffectiveness.

It is good to receive life stories such as this, that demonstrate how hopeless ConMed is, and well as how dangerous.
